Who we are
Our website address is: http://thecruciblemc.net.
We are a collective of people who are recreating the Destiny 1 video game as a Minecraft: Java Edition multiplayer server. This is not done with the express permission of Bungie, the copyright holders of the Destiny brand and Destiny intellectual property.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We may collect personal data in the form of an internet Cookie, as well as possibly collect personal data from signing up a user account to access certain parts of our website. This information may include your real name, date of birth, email address, the password you signed up with, age, Minecraft account username, the username you sign up with, and your browsing habits while on this website. We are required to keep this data in order to have your account created and kept on a technological requirement, and we keep this data for analytical purposes. In plain text, we may use this to tailor how our news posts or announcements are written to target the most visited age group, as well as ensure we do not violate United States COPPA laws in regards to minors.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Our primary method of communication is via the Discord communication service. We may have an email address for general inquiries at a later time. You can also reach out to the creator of this project, infered5, via Reddit or Discord at /u/infered5 and infered5#0001, respectively.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We use data gathered from users visiting our website, users visiting our server, as well as users and automated robots, also known as spiders or crawlers, to shape the way we present our product. By using or interacting with our website or our Minecraft server, including searching for us on search engines, we may use this data to see what we’re doing right and what we’re doing wrong and tailor it as the data is presented to us.
Who we share your data with
Your data may be shared with advertising companies to give tailored advertisements in the browser. Your browsing history to many websites, including this one, may be shared with advertising companies or Google Analytics to provide us with information to best fit our website to you. Other websites you visit may influence the advertisements seen on this website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Under the laws of GDPR, if you are a citizen of the European Union you may request the “Right to be Forgotten” where we will purge our systems of any data we have on you. Some information may be retained under this case for administrative purposes, which is allowed under GDPR. If you request the right to be forgotten, we may keep your username, email address, or IP address in our systems if you have been banned or warned. Invoking the right to be forgotten will never reverse a ban.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Data may be sent to third party companies for analytical or advertising purposes.
Your contact information
Your personal information, including passwords, usernames, email addresses or real names, are not shared with third party organizations. Data put into our systems will be retained indefinitely, so do not put in your real information if you are not comfortable with this.
How we protect your data
Your data is protected using Namecheap’s EasyWP and is guarded by the best security they have to offer. We protect your data by ensuring only the most trusted of our group have access to the administrative panel using secure logins, and certain information is not even accessible to us. Certain identifiable information is kept if you create an account that we have access to, including birthdates, real names, email addresses and profile pictures. If you do not wish this information to be available to other users or the administration team, do not sign up for an account with us.
What third parties we receive data from
We may receive data about you from Google Analytics, CloudFlare, EasyWP, Discord or Mojang. This data can be used for targeting advertising, linking accounts together, or for banning/blacklisting certain users from our services.
